West Virginia Soccer Association is making available the WVSA Connie L. Rogers Memorial Scholarship to assist college bound candidates with the cost of higher education.
Established by West Virginia Soccer Association (WVSA) in 2018, the scholarship was created to honor the many facets of Connie L. Rogers’s relationship with youth soccer in West Virginia. Connie, the wife of WVSA President Len Rogers, was a huge behind the scenes supporter of soccer in the state of West Virginia. Connie supported the efforts of WVSA including Len’s vision to bring the US Youth Soccer Eastern Region Championships to Barboursville in 2009 as well as many other major regional events. The funds for this scholarship were donated in her memory when she passed away in September of 2017.
In honor of Connie L. Rogers, West Virginia Soccer Association will award a $200 scholarship to one high school senior, who plans to further their education by attending college or an accredited technical school.
