WVSA COACHING CLINICS
“G” License No fee - 3 hours
Minimum number of coaches required: 10
Facility required: Gym or field
Objective:
· Expose new and inexperienced coaches to the essentials involved in dealing with young soccer players.
· Topics include organization of practice sessions, small-sided games and an introduction to the basic skills in a fun environment.
Candidate Expectations:
· Participate in field sessions
· Bring pen, paper, a soccer ball and questions.
“F” License $20 - 6 hours
Minimum number of coaches required: 10
Facility required: Gym or field
A list of registered coaches must be received at the State Office 14 days before the course commences.
Objective:
· To provide further information to parent coaches who have previously attended a “G” License.
· To allow parent coaches an opportunity to observe an experienced staff coach work with young players.
Candidate Expectations:
· Coaches are expected to participate in field sessions.
· Coaches need to bring pen, paper, and a soccer ball.
The host club needs to provide a group of players of the appropriate age for field sessions, e.g. U6 group for
45 minutes (8 to 10 players), U8 group for 1 hour (10 to 12 players)& U10 group for 1 hour (12 players per group)
The course consist of one-hour lecture, field sessions with players, a one-hour field session with coaches, each coach attending the course will receive a coaching manual. The manual contains field sessions, a player skill developmental plan, and information on small-sided games.
E License Fee $50 - 18 hours
Minimum number of coaches required: 15
Facility required: Gym or field and classroom.
A list of registered coaches must be received at the State Office 14 days before the course commences.
Objectives:
· Prepare coaches for training players U14 and younger by providing activities that enhance technical competence, while also addressing some tactical concepts.
· To provide a framework of understanding of appropriate coaching tools that will provide the players an enjoyable learning experience.
Candidate Expectations:
· Participate in all activities.
· Demonstrate a basic grasp of the material presented.
· Coaches need to bring pen, paper, and a soccer ball.
E License coaching manuals will be provided to all coaches.
D License (non residential) $150 - 36 hours
Minimum number of coaches required: 15
Facility required: Large gym or field and classroom.
A list of registered coaches must be received at the State Office 14 days before the course commences.
Objectives:
· Prepare coaches for training players U15 and above by expanding the player’s tactical awareness, while further developing their technical ability.
· To provide the framework and understanding of practical coaching methods for the preparation of players and the team.
· To serve coaches for whom this represents their final coaching course as well as those who plan to pursue a National License.
Candidate Expectations:
· Participate in all activities (field and discussion groups).
· Demonstrate coaching ability and basic soccer knowledge.
· Coaches need to bring pen, paper and a soccer ball.
D License coaching manuals will be provided to all coaches.
