FRISCO, Texas (August 8, 2012) –The US Youth Soccer Region I Leagues are accepting team applications for the Spring 2013 season. Applications are due Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, by 5 p.m. ET. Each league will consist of 16 teams each, with play beginning in March and concluding in May.

In 2013, the Region I Leagues will expand by adding the Under-13 Boys and Girls age groups to the Premier League and the Under-12 8v8 and Under-12 Boys and Girls age groups to the Colonial and Northeast Leagues. Each league will field competitions for all age groups up to Under-18.

The Region I Leagues are available only to teams within the 15 State Associations of Region I. The Colonial and Northeast Leagues are available only to teams within specific State Associations within Region I. Participation in the 2013 Region I Leagues will qualify teams for their US Youth Soccer National Championship Series State competition and champions of the Region I Premier League will gain automatic entry to the US Youth Soccer Region I Championships.

All teams who would like to participate in the Region I Leagues must submit an application before the deadline. Accepted teams for the 2013 season will be announced on or before December 30, 2012.
