WVSA Plus One Program

The West Virginia Soccer Association is excited to announce a new coaching education program geared towards developing and grooming more female soccer coaches in our state: WVSA Plus One Program.

The WVSA Plus One Program seeks to encourage female collegiate soccer players in the state to enroll in specially designed female only WVSA Grassroots Coaching Courses at no cost to the player. Once a course is completed, these players will be paired with a local grassroots soccer program (recreational) in their area to begin practical application of the skills learned from their course. Players will also be able to participate in quarterly Zoom mentoring sessions with experienced female soccer coaches from across the country. Our goal is to develop more female coaches…one coach at a time.

These coaching courses will be held on local college/high school campuses or nearby facilities to provide easy access to these players. All coaching courses will be paid for by a WVSA Coaching Grant (all money is donated by local businesses and the general soccer community).

Our hope is for these players to help foster a different love for the game and passing on their excitement and enthusiasm to a new generation of players for many years to come.

NOTE: The only way that we can fully fund this program is through donations from local businesses and our soccer community. Please consider making a donation below.

You can mail a check (payable to WVSA) to: WVSA, PO Box 3360, Beckley, WV 25801. Please make sure you put "WVSA Plus One Program" in the memo line.
