U13-U19/20 Competition 11 v 11 roster limit 18 players Travel & Rec (Expanded Rosters to 22 players)
NOTE: Coaches with Expanded rosters can only dress and bench 18 players in any competition

Teams entering with expanded rosters, must designate which players will play each game.
Team awards are limited to the roster limits (14 or 18).

NOTE: A player can ONLY play for one team in Open Cup.

If a player is registered on two teams – one travel and one rec, the Travel team will become their Primary team for Open Cup, and they will be removed from the recreational team. The recreational team can only be the primary team for the player if the Travel team coach emails the State Registrar (jude@wvsoccer.net) giving the player permission.

If the player is registered on two recreational teams, the state registrar (jude@wvsoccer.net) will need an email from the club/league or coach designating which team will be the player’s Primary team for Open Cup.

All Official Open Cup rosters will be printed from the Open Cup registration software:

All rosters are required to have pictures of all coaches and players and jersey numbers for all players.

NO pictures &/or No Jersey Numbers = NO Play

Team bracketing will be posted after the drop date.

(Teams will NOT be entered in bracketing until payment is received – NO EXCEPTIONS)

BRACKETING

We will try to bracket teams by their age and abilities.

To bracket properly, all teams must provide us with information on team make-up, record, experience and results against other teams in the Cup.

This information can be emailed to us at cups@wvsoccer.net and the subject line be the age group followed by team name entered (ie U10Boys Rockets).

If this information is not received, you may be bracketed in the highest level.

Contact WVSA immediately if you feel you have been misclassified in your bracket by emailing
cups@wvsoccer.net

SCHEDULES

Schedules and directions to the fields will be posted by 1 week prior to the tournament.

Because this tournament stretches our capabilities to administrate and officiate, we reserve the right to limit the total number of teams, to refuse entries if they force inefficient bracketing.

We may be unable to properly bracket highly competitive teams unless they play up several brackets. If we cannot do this, we may have to refuse entry.

Competition will be round-robin on Saturday. On Sunday, there will be some round-robin games, and semi-finals and finals.

All teams are guaranteed three games, with no team playing more than two games per day.

FINES

Remember that there are fines for dropping from the competition.

If you must drop, do it before the drop date, and call Beth Noss Cup Chair at 304-290-8435 and confirm by
emailing both cups@wvsoccer.net and jude@wvsoccer.net.

REFEREES

REFEREES: This is WVSA largest tournament and our biggest problem is recruiting enough referees to man all the games.

Each team MUST designate a referee that can do 3 games each day, or must designate several referees as partial that combined can commit to 3 games per day.

Please check with your local clubs/leagues for names of referees and call them to see if they are available.

Referees can sign up at www.wvsoccer.net under the Referee tab, click on the left “Calls for Referees”
