Here's an email recently sent out to the membership of the Mississippi Soccer Association about the dangers of unsecured goals. Please take a moment to ready it and pass along to your coaches and membership.
Good morning -
As we conclude yet another great season of MSA soccer, I wanted to take a
moment to remind everyone of the importance of goal safety. We had an
incident earlier in the spring of a child playing on an unsecured goal and
it toppled over injuring the player. This was a goal pushed aside and not
in use. As the fields are now fairly empty of teams it is imperative that
each organization ensure all goals are secured or are placed away from
access of young players/siblings. Fortunately, this was not a life
threatening injury but very easily could have been.
As a part of your membership application, each of you ensure MSA that you
have done your due diligence in securing goals. We urge you to do the same
once again now and again prior to the 2014-2015 season beginning.
Thank you all for your continue support of MSA and we wish you a safe and
The safety of our children should be our number one priority. During this summer season (the off-season), please make sure your goals a locked up and properly anchored.
