WEST VIRGINIA STATE LEAGUE
Concept: The purpose of the West Virginia State League (WVSL) is to provide a platform for development for 12U-17U teams across the state. The West Virginia State League (WVSL) is designated as a qualifying league for WVSA State Cup.
League Dates:
March 14 & 15, 2026 – Boys 12U – Location: Shawnee Sports Complex in Dunbar, WV
March 14 & 15, 2026 – Girls 12U – Location: Shawnee Sports Complex in Dunbar, WV
March 14 & 15, 2026 – Boys and Girls 13U – 17U Location: Shawnee Sports Complex in Dunbar, WV (note: these age groups might have to play some matches on other dates.) Please note that the 13U and up that we accept other leagues as a way to qualify for WVSA State/Presidents Cup. If you are not sure please email Beth at beth@wvsoccer.net for the 13U and up.
Number of Matches: Teams entering the WVSL will receive at least THREE league matches.
League Fee: 12U: $500
13U – 17U: $800
Schedule: To be released for 12U by March 2nd, 13U and up by March 10th
Referee Fees: Included in league fee
Mandatory Play Dates:
The 12U Age Group State and President’s Cup teams are required to play in the WVSL for qualification and seeding for State and Presidents Cup. This ensures a fair seeding process for State and President’s Cup.
All other age groups will use it as a qualifier only.
Play Date Match Structure: Teams will play at least three matches during their play date weekend. The total number of matches to be determined by the entries in the league.
Forfeited teams will be charged $250 per match and match(s) will not count towards qualifying for State Cup for the forfeited.
Self-Scheduled Matches: There will be no self-scheduled matches.
Rosters: Rosters due and frozen on March 2.
Registration: Open until February 16, 2026 (Late Registration will be February 9-16 and is an extra $100)
Final Drop Date w/ Refund: February 16, 2026
For 12U teams we will be moving to 8 common players from your league to cup roster.
