As West Virginia Soccer Association’s suspension of activity expires on June 8, 2020, clubs may resume activity with certain mandatory and recommended guidelines.
CDC and WV Governors guidelines for COVID-19 must be followed until further notice as we continue to battle to limit the spread of the virus.
In all cases, WVSA Clubs must adhere to the rulings and policies of the local county health department and should check with them prior to any activity.
WVSA has created Return To Play Guidelines to help clubs plan, prepare, and resume play. You can access the document below.
In addition to our Return To Play Guidelines that addresses individual and playing environment safety, we are introducing Phased Return To Play. This document provides an outline helping clubs their initial return to full activity.
WVSA also requires clubs have parents complete and sign a Participation Waiver. This document is an acknowledgement that their child could contract COVID-19 during soccer activities. This waiver must only be completed one time this season. This waiver is available in printed form and can also be completed through your Affinity account. Affinity instructions are provided below as well as the printed form, if needed.
WVSA has created a Screening Tool that will allow clubs to have a record of those that participate in activities. Each players parent or guardian must provide this information to their club this for prior to each team event. This screening must be completed prior to each team event including if there are multiple events per day. WVSA Clubs may create a Google Document, or use Team Snap or another online method to collect this information. Sample Google for instructions are provided below.
WVSA is providing a “Reduce The Spread” field sign that may be used by clubs at their facilities. Please check with your facilities prior to posting.
WVSA Responsibilities of Clubs and Coaches has also been provided as a guide. WVSA also is providing a sample practice grid to maintain 10-feet between players in WVSA Phase 2.
WVSA has also created a series of documents and links to help clubs plan, prepare, and resume play. Clubs, players and parents/guardians can access the following information below.
